SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Looking for something to do around San Diego this weekend?
From waterfront festivals and live music to family-friendly events and outdoors adventures, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the sunshine across the county.
FOX 5/KUSI has rounded up some events and happenings taking place this weekend:
The first-ever Poway Spring Festival is set to take over Midland Road on Sunday with a full day of family-friendly fun, live entertainment and community festivities. The free event will feature hundreds of vendors, food trucks, live music, a classic car show, kids’ activities, as well as a beer and wine garden from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Broadway fans can experience a beloved classic this weekend when “The Sound of Music” comes to the San Diego Civic Theatre. The nationally touring production will feature iconic songs like “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and “Edelweiss” as it brings the story of Maria and the von Trapp family to the stage. There are multiple show times set for both Saturday and Sunday.
This festival is returning to Solana Beach this weekend for its 45th annual celebration, bringing two days of live music, food, arts and crafts, and family-friendly entertainment to Fletcher Cove Park. The free event will feature more than 14 live bands — including performances by Los Lobos and The English Beat — along with a kids zone, beer and wine gardens, along with a variety of vendors.
Hidden cocktail lounge ‘Arcana’ opens in Encinitas — promises mystery, mythology
Wine lovers can sip and sample the best of the region on Sunday at Bernardo Winery in Rancho Bernardo. The event will feature unlimited tastings from more than 20 San Diego County wineries. Each ticket also includes a personal charcuterie plate. Additionally, the festival will have live music and a silent auction.
This music and arts festival is being held at the San Diego Made Factory, which is located at 2031 Commercial Street. The event will feature a lineup of live music and visual arts, along with interactive art installations. Attendees can also expect plenty of food and beer options to enjoy. Proceeds from the festival will support local musicians, according to organizers.
