LONG BEACH – A man was stabbed in Long Beach but is expected to survive his wounds, authorities said Saturday.
Officers were dispatched at about 6:30 p.m. Friday to a hospital regarding a stabbing victim, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“The preliminary investigation indicates the male adult victim was involved in an altercation, which escalated when he was stabbed by a male adult suspect,” according to police.
Officers located a crime scene in the 1000 block of Long Beach Boulevard, and suspect identification remained under investigation.
He is the second man stabbed in the City over the last week.
A 42-year-old homeless man is in police custody on suspicion of stabbing another man in downtown Long Beach on October 23.
Officers with the Long Beach Police Department were called to the 100 block of First Street and Pine Avenue at approximately 1:05 a.m. regarding a stabbing.
Both men are expected to survive.
