A member of the Los Angeles Chargers received devastating news roughly 24 hours before kickoff against the Tennessee Titans.
Jabari Henley, the son of Eugene “Big U” Henley and brother of Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley, was reportedly shot to death in Los Angeles on Friday night. This tragic news was first reported by TMZ this Saturday.

“TMZ can confirm via family sources Jabari was shot to death late Friday night. The Los Angeles Police Department tells TMZ … officers were called to the intersection of 69th Street and Figueroa Street just after 11 PM, where the victim — a 34-year-old black male — succumbed to his injuries,” the report from TMZ states. “We’re told the victim approached a vehicle and was shot. The suspect — who was stationed outside a smoke shop in South L.A. — fled the scene and has not been identified.”
No motive has been revealed at this time.

After TMZ shared this devastating news, NFL fans sent kind words to Daiyan Henley and his family.

“God that’s awful, prayers for the Henleys,” one fan wrote on X.
“I feel so bad for Daiyan,” a Chargers fan commented. “RIP man.”
“That’s absolutely awful news,” a third fan wrote. “Prayers to all of the family.”
“The word heartbreaking doesn’t do this justice. All my prayers are with Daiyan Henley and his family at this time,” another fan said.
Henley, a former third-round pick from Washington State, has been with the Chargers since the 2023 season. He currently has 215 total tackles, 10 pass break-ups, three sacks and two interceptions in his career.
