HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors return from the bye week to face the San Jose State University Spartans for the Dick Tomey Legacy Trophy.
The 6-2 ‘Bows are riding a three-game win streak, and are off to their best start since 2018.
Hawaii defeated Colorado State 31-19 and is now bowl-eligible for the first time in the Timmy Chang era.
The Spartans are 2-5, but have won four of the last five matchups against the ‘Bows, the most recent being a shutout loss at home in 2023.
Kickoff in California is at 4:30 p.m. Hawaii time and televised on CBS Sports.

Quarter 3
On the first drive of the quarter, Alejado and the ‘Bows drove downfield and scored after a third down and goal, and brought the ‘Bows within 10 points, 31-21.
SJSU’s Walker Eget answered with a 62-yard pass to Danny Scudero, his second TD of the night, 38-21.
Hawaii’s offense was called for holding, and after an incomplete pass, punted.
After an unsuccessful fourth-down attempt, San Jose turned the ball over on downs.

Quarter 2
Alejado and the ‘Bows were forced to punt.
San Jose drove downfield to start the quarter and scored a touchdown, gaining their first lead of the game.
The ‘Bows offense stalled out and were forced to punt after an incomplete pass on third down.
Hawaii was called for two offside penalties, while San Jose was called for a false start. San Jose scored after rushing for two yards. Officials said SJSU’s runner broke the plane, 21-7.
Alejado and the ‘Bows answered with a 68-yard pass to Harris to score, bringing the game to 21-14.
However, San Jose threw their own deep ball with a 50-yard pass, 28-14.
Alejado was then sacked on third down, and the ‘Bows punted with two minutes left in the half.
San Jose completed a 30- and 25-yard pass to get into the red zone, but settled for a field goal, 31-14.

Quarter 1
SJSU won the toss and elected to receive.
On the Spartans’ first drive, the ‘Bows were called for two penalties, but UH’s defense was able to stop SJSU to force a turnover on downs.
Quarterback Micah Alejado led the ‘Bows downfield, and running back Cam Barfield scored the first touchdown of the game.
The Manoa defense forced San Jose to punt, bringing out Alejado and the offense.
However, with just over a minute left in the quarter, UH fumbled and San Jose recovered the ball.
SJSU QB Walker Eget threw a 37-yard pass, which set them up for a rushing touchdown to tie the game 7-7.
Hawaii tied with San Jose 7-7.
