A man died at a hospital after he was stabbed in west Long Beach Monday night, June 1, and police were searching for at least one suspect, authorities said.

Long Beach officers were called to the 1800 block of Harbor Avenue, near Parade Street, shortly before 8:30 p.m. and found the victim with a life-threatening stab wound, police said.

The suspect, or suspects, fled before officers arrived.

Officers attempted to help the victim before paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital, police said.

A motive for the attack was not known.

Video from OnScene TV, a freelance news organization that sometimes works with the Southern California News Group, shows officers canvassing the street and a parking lot as nearby residents looked on beyond crime-scene tape.

The victim had not been identified yet by police pending notification of his relatives.
