BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 23-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl over a monthslong period, admitting to the acts when questioned by police, according to a court filing.
Matthew Ramos was arrested last month and is being held without bail on multiple charges related to child sex abuse. He’s scheduled for a preliminary hearing in mid-July.
According to a probable cause declaration, the girl’s mother caught Ramos touching her daughter and confronted him. Police were called and the girl told officers about multiple acts of sexual abuse.
Ramos admitted to the abuse, according to the declaration, telling officers he committed sex acts against the girl twice a week for four months.
