Two decades of sun, sips, and seaside celebration—and the Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) is marking the milestone in style. The 20th annual Del Mar Summer Solstice returns Thursday, June 18, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Powerhouse Park, where the Pacific Ocean sets the scene for one of Southern California’s most beloved summer traditions, a news release stated.

What began 20 years ago as a gathering of neighbors toasting the longest day of the year has become one of San Diego’s most anticipated summer traditions: an immersive, one-night culinary and cultural event where award-winning Del Mar Village restaurants, top-shelf beverages, live music, and ocean air converge in one unforgettable evening.

A feast worth the drive

More than 15 acclaimed Del Mar Village restaurants will be serving elevated bites throughout the evening, including Adelaide at L’Auberge Del Mar, Monarch Ocean Pub, Tamarindo, and Viewpoint Brewing Co. Local favorites Coral Del Mar, The Cottage Del Mar, Jake’s Del Mar, and Brigantine return alongside Queenstown Del Mar and Häagen-Dazs Del Mar—two exciting newcomers to the Del Mar Village scene, the news release stated.

Sips as good as the sunset

The beverage lineup matches the occasion, featuring CaliFino Tequila, Coconut Cowboy, Duckhorn, Serendipity Wines, and a range of wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic options. VIP ticket holders will kick off the evening in style with an exclusive welcome cocktail crafted by Storyhouse Spirits, spotlighting Torrey Pines Gin—a distinctly San Diego toast to 20 years of Summer Solstice.

Live music with soul

The soundtrack for the 20th anniversary comes courtesy of Christian Jules Taylor, whose bluesy, soulful sound is the perfect complement to a golden-hour evening on the California coast.

Expanded event experience

This year’s event introduces a suite of new experiences that bring the spirit of Del Mar to life. Local Del Mar Village artist Sarah O’Connor will create live seaside artwork throughout the evening, offering attendees a front-row seat to the creative process with the Pacific as her canvas. Sand Cloud beach blankets will host a golden hour giveaway—keeping the coastal good times rolling as the sun dips to the horizon.

For the 20th anniversary, the event also debuts the Aloha Collection Coastal Lounge, an expanded venue space designed specifically to soak in the sweeping sunset views that make Powerhouse Park so special.

Summer Solstice has always been about more than great food and good times. Net proceeds from the event go directly to DMVA, fueling the nonprofit’s mission to support and sustain the small businesses that give Del Mar its singular character.
