A woman was injured after a fire broke out Sunday morning in a residential garage in the Outer Sunset, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the 1600 block of 42nd Avenue after a 911 call around 6 a.m., arriving at a “heavy fire” on the two-story building’s first floor, according to reports posted on the public safety app, Citizen.
Firefighters requested forcible entry to access the building’s garage and found a victim in the backyard suffering from smoke inhalation, according to Citizen reports.
Responders evacuated the victim and contained the fire to the first floor, adding that one other resident was displaced.
Crews were continuing to monitor the scene by 7 a.m. and requested assistance from Pacific Gas and Electric Co. to address electrical concerns, according to Citizen posts.
Details on the extent of the woman’s injuries were not immediately available.
