The historic Graff Home at 916 E. Divisadero St. in Downtown Fresno, built in 1905, now houses Rabara Memorial Chapel after the property sold earlier this year. Stumpf and Co. brokered the sale of the building, which most recently operated as Wildrose Chapel and Funeral Home. Wildrose Chapel photo
The property that housed Wildrose Chapel and Funeral Home for more than three decades has a new owner — and a new identity.
Rabara Memorial Chapel opened June 1 at 916 E. Divisadero St. in Downtown Fresno’s Cultural Arts District, marking both the relaunch of the historic property and the debut of a new locally owned funeral business. The sale of the business and real estate was brokered by Ron Stumpf, Alexandra Stumpf and Veronica Stumpf of Stumpf and Co.
The transaction involved a 4,531-square-foot building on a 22,802-square-foot lot. The Johnson Family Trust sold the property to Sunnyside Funeral Care Inc.
The new business is owned by Michael J. Rabara, a Fresno resident and licensed funeral professional with nearly 30 years of experience in the industry. Rabara holds multiple California professional licenses, including funeral director, embalmer, crematory manager, cemetery manager and insurance sales agent. He is a graduate of Cypress College School of Mortuary Science and California State University, Fresno.
Rabara Memorial Chapel offers traditional funeral services, cremation services, memorial celebrations and veteran services.
“Downtown Fresno is experiencing an incredible revitalization, and I wanted to invest in the heart of our city while continuing to serve the community that has supported me throughout my life and career,” Rabara said.
