Police in Long Beach are searching for information regarding a fatal stabbing that took place Monday night.
A press release from the Long Beach Police Department states that officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Harbor Avenue regarding a stabbing just before 8:30 p.m.
The location provided by police is near the intersection of Harbor Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, not far from the 710 Freeway.
“Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with a life-threatening stab wound,” LBPD’s press release says.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel also responded and took the man to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

His identity was not released right away pending notification of next of kin by the L.A. County Medical Examiner’s Department.
No information on a suspect or suspects was released; the LBPD press release said they fled the area before officers arrived.
The circumstances and motive surrounding the stabbing are still under investigation.
