OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WEVV) — Fire crews are on scene of a structure fire at the intersection of Vine Street and Highland Avenue.
The call came in just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
The East Gibson Fire Department requested assistance from Barton Township and the Francisco Fire Department.
Those in the area say they could see heavy smoke coming from the second floor.
At this time, there is no word yet on any injuries.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office reports there is large presence of fire, EMS and law enforcement units on scene. Due to the heavy presence, authorities are advising drivers to avoid the area. They are urging motorists to travel with extreme caution and take alternate routes if possible.
