The fatal collision occurred on Oct. 25 around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Foxworthy and Jarvis Avenues, police said. A man driving a white GMC Yukon, later identified as Hygelund, collided with a green Subaru Forester as he attempted to pass on the right. The collision caused Hygelund to spin out and drive onto oncoming traffic before crashing head-on with a blue Honda CRV driven by Orcut, police said.
Orcut was declared dead at the scene. The woman driving the Forester was uninjured, police said.
This incident is the city’s 31st fatal collision and 31st traffic death of 2025, police said.
