“SOME LIKE IT HOT”
Two musicians are forced to change their identities and go on the run after witnessing a mob murder in this Prohibition-era comedy. Their escape takes them across the country, where they find themselves entrapped in dramatic love affairs. But, still in disguise, can they find a way to start their lives over while managing to avoid the members of the mob that are still attempting to track them down? The Grammy- and Tony Award-winning musical has long wowed audiences with its elaborate dance numbers and exciting score. Segerstrom Hall, 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, 714-556-2787, scfta.org

Dec. 4, 1956, was a famous night in history when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins gathered together to play some music. It has since been referenced as the greatest rock ’n’ roll jam session ever recorded. This show captures a fictionalized sequence of events based on what is speculated to have happened as that famous recording was created. Expect to hear hits from all four of the illustrious musicians, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire,” and “Who Do You Love.” South Coast Repertory, 655 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, 714-708-5555, scr.org
