Taft Police arrested a Bakersfield man on burglary and other charges after a break-in at the PG&E facility on the 500 block of Gardner Field Road on May 29.

Sgt. Corey Beilby said police found the suspect hiding near the site of the break-in when they responded to the alarm call about 10:25 p.m.

The first arriving officer found a hole had been cut in a chain-link fence and a search of the area led to the discovery of the suspect trying to conceal himself in nearby bushes.

The suspect was detained and ultimately arrested after refusing to obey commands at first.

He was identified as Alvaro Gabriel Ramos, 47.

Officer also found burglary tools and items stolen from several vehicles in the fenced-in yard in Ramos’ possession, Beilby said.

Ramos was booked on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, vandalism, trespassing, misdemeanor obstructing officers and possession of burglary tools.
