San Francisco police were investigating Wednesday after a person was found dead in a street on Geneva Avenue.

Officers responded about 6:23 a.m. to the 900 block of Geneva Avenue to meet with paramedics about a deceased person in the street, the San Francisco Police Department said.

Police said the cause of death had not been determined. Officers remained at the scene Wednesday morning, and the investigation was preliminary, police said. That block of Geneva Avenue intersects with Mission Street.

SFPD did not release any other details, including whether foul play or a vehicle was involved.

The person’s name was not immediately released.

Anyone with information can contact San Francisco police at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD. The case number is 260314211.

The Geneva Avenue investigation came less than an hour after police said a pedestrian was killed in a vehicle collision near Brannan and Seventh streets in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood.
