The gas leak was reported in the 200 block of South 24th Street, south of East Santa Clara Street and west of Highway 101, just before 10:30 a.m. The SJFD Hazmat team and PG&E crews responded to the scene.
“All residences within 150 feet are being evacuated as a precaution,” fire officials said in an update at 11:20 a.m. Nearby residences had previously been asked to shelter in place.
The gas line was clamped and evacuations were lifted by 12:41 p.m.

The response impacted traffic on S 25th Street. People were advised to avoid the area.
