A 35-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with the theft of a car at a Burbank CarMax, police told NBC4 Investigates.
The used vehicle retailer reported the theft of the 2022 Lexus E350 luxury sedan to Burbank police, whose detectives located the car early Monday afternoon and made a traffic stop. Someone used fake information and identification to steal the vehicle, authorities said.
Officers arrested 35-year-old Franko Ariel, who had credit cards and IDs that did not belong to him, police said. Ariel was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, acquiring/possessing person ID information with intent to defraud, possession of a controlled substance and other crimes.
Detectives are attempting to determine whether Ariel was the person who stole the car at CarMax. He remained in custody Friday.
