On the first day of the PWHL’s three-day expansion signing process in which each of the four new teams can sign five players, San Jose added its first player in former Seattle goalie Corinne Schroeder, who signed a standard two-year standard agreement.
According to the PWHL website, Schroeder started 17 games for the Seattle Torrent in 2025-26, earning five wins and posting a .915 save percentage and 2.56 goals-against average. In three PWHL seasons she has played in 52 games with a 2.46 goal-against average.
Detroit general manager Manon Rhéaume began to stock her PWHL expansion team by signing four players — including forward Daryl Watts, who landed the league’s first four-year contract.
Watts’ addition in Detroit was particularly notable in landing what’s called an Expansion Foundational Offer, guaranteeing her an annual salary of no less than $100,000. Under league rules, Watts chose the maximum term of four years, which the PWHL introduced as part of this year’s expansion process.
