FORTUNA, Calif. – The Northern Division Investigative Services Unit of the California Highway Patrol provided assistance in a multi-agency enforcement operation targeting suspect labor violations and worker exploitation.
The California Highway patrol says that the operation focused on protecting worker’s rights and safety, holding those who exploit vulnerable members of the community accountable for their crimes.
At the request of the Fortuna Police Department, undercover personnel from the California Highway Patrol was provided to help support the ongoing investigation.
A search warrant was executed by members of the CHP’s Warrant Service Team and officers from the CHP Humboldt Area Office at the Fortuna Massage and Spa.
Authorities say that as part of the operation, 47-year-old Delin Liu of Sacramento was taken into custody on the following charges:
Maintaining a brothelMaintaining a nuisance houseProstitution
“The CHP’s participation in this operation reflects our commitment to interagency cooperation and public safety beyond our traditional highway enforcement mission,” said CHP Northern Division Chief John Pinoli. “As California’s state police agency, we regularly support our law enforcement partners when public safety needs require a coordinated response.”
