SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A suspect who fled the scene of a hit-and-run crash in the city’s Castro District overnight Sunday after colliding into multiple dining parklets and a restaurant was taken into custody Friday, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Kejwine Patts, 30, of Oakland, was identified as the suspect driver, arrested and booked into San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of vandalism and non-injury hit and run for the May 31 incident, according to San Francisco police.
Police said officers responded at 1:48 a.m. to the 400 block of Castro Street for a report of a solo vehicle collision into a building. At the scene, police located a sedan that was left at the scene but were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle.

“During a preliminary investigation, officers learned that the vehicle collided into two different parklets and then drove into a business, where the vehicle came to a stop,” wrote police in a news release.
Ajay Khadka, bar owner at Castro Indian Restaurant, reviewed security video of the car crash and told KRON4, “People were just walking around like that second, not even a minute; no one was there. So, thank God nobody got hurt; otherwise, it would be devastating.”
Khadka said the restaurant is dealing with repairs that may cost as much as $25,000.
