Toxic standoff between the San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has taken yet another bizarre turn.

Just as the front office navigates the post-June 1 salary cap landscape, a ghost from Aiyuk’s tumultuous winter has officially materialized in the form of an active arrest warrant.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that an arrest warrant has been formally issued to Aiyuk on a misdemeanor charge of exhibition of speed.
The legal escalation stems directly from a widely criticized video Aiyuk uploaded to his personal YouTube channel.
The clip featured the wide receiver behind the wheel of a newly purchased Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, joyriding through the streets of Santa Clara and reaching speeds of over 105 miles per hour as he flew directly past the 49ers’ home venue at Levi Stadium.

In other portions of the video, the vehicle’s speedometer clearly ticketed as high as 111 miles per hour in a posted 40 mile per hour zone.
While Aiyuk quickly scrubbed the content and issued a public apology immediately, citing a moment of reflection while playing with his son, the damage was already done.
The Santa Clara Police Department forwarded their comprehensive digital investigation to county prosecutors, culminating in the active warrant.
Under California law, a conviction for exhibition of speed carries a fine of up to five hundred dollars, mandatory probation, or community service.
In more extreme circumstances, the penalty can include up to 90 days of incarceration in a county jail, alongside a potential investigation under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Aiyuk’s recent digital footprint heavily reinforces many narratives.
This is just one of them.
Fans have also noted that Aiyuk’s significant others recently followed Daniels, the Commander’s official account, and several prominent Washington personnel on Instagram.
This deep-rooted desire to force his way to the Wa- to Washington explains why Aiyuk’s willingly allowed the 49ers to void his financial guarantees without mounting a substantial fight through the union channels.
By clearing out his contract obligations and obstacles, Aiyuk effectively paved his way out of Santa Clara.
Once the paperwork clears, a family reunion in Washington appears completely inevitable.
But at this point, is that even what Washington wants?
