Nick Castellanos is not hitting, and so he got DFA’d.
Now, I’m not saying the Padres should DFA their whole team, because then that would- you wouldn’t be able to continue to compete in the 2026 Major League Baseball season.
However, he’s not the only one that’s not hitting.
Good point.
And the Padres were swept in Philadelphia.
They have the worst OPS in baseball at 651.
They’re hitting 216 as a team, which is so bad.
Their run differential’s now in the negatives.
They’re six and a half games behind the Dodgers, and now behind the Diamondbacks, who we just mentioned, who are, you know- just walked off the Dodgers last night.

So just a really bad stretch for San Diego, and there were signs when their record was really good that this is maybe not gonna last.
But, as we start, listen, as we start heading towards the deadline, we know the Padres are gonna be someone we’re talking about.
But, they’re gonna have to play a little bit, have to play a little bit better, have to play a little bit better to, Now, I don’t think it’s gonna stop Preller from trying to do something crazy regardless, but this is, I mean, this is just a bad looking ball club right now.
And even though they’re pitching, the bullpen remains awesome, it’s, this is not good enough right now.

They’re nervous in front of the new owner.
Ooh, interesting.
I’m playing tight.
Playing tight.
Well, you better, you better figure that out- For the new owner because, this is a, this is a yikes first impression, I would say.
My man might’ve bought a lemon.
But, I, well, there’s a lot going on in San Diego, but, I have imagined we will continue to talk about them.
They are always interesting.
