The Detroit Red Wings are looking to strike success in San Jose on Sunday, coming off of a 5-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.
Currently on game four out of five of their current West Coast road trip, the Red Wings are feeling the absence of veteran Patrick Kane, who suffered an injury nearly two weeks ago.Questions remain unanswered regarding Kane’s status as the Red Wings remain tight-lipped, but one unfortunate sign was a recent roster transaction that saw forward Austin Watson recalled in place of number 88’s absence.Watson, 33, started the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, who are currently making history while being the only undefeated AHL organization with a 7-0 record.
While the enforcer’s teammates in the AHL are currently flourishing, Watson now looks on from the outside of the Red Wings roster, with him being one of two players projected to be healthy scratched on Sunday as Detroit takes on the Sharks in San Jose.

Extras noted include the two players.
While the West Coast road trip hasn’t gone in the Red Wings’ favor, they look to end on a winning note before heading back to Detroit on November 7 against the New York Rangers.
