The Pasadena Police Department welcomed a new K-9 to its team.

K-9 Seeka, a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever, is joining the force as a tracking and trailing dog, the department announced on Friday. The pooch is currently working on her certification to help locate missing individuals as well as suspects who’ve fled crime scenes.

Seeka has been training with Officer Daniel Velasquez, who previously worked with K-9 Edo.

Edo retired a month ago after serving seven years with the department, Pasadena police said. The K-9 was on a military assignment with the Army Special Forces before he transitioned to police work.

During his time with the Pasadena Police Department, Edo helped apprehend four suspects, helped seize more than $300,000 in his career and attended 47 community events.
