OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) – Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee announced her reelection campaign Saturday.

“One year ago, Oaklanders made a clear choice,” Lee said in a news release. “We chose to come together – labor and business, neighbors and community leaders, residents from every part of our city – around a shared belief that Oakland can be safer, cleaner, stronger, and more hopeful. And today, I am proud to say: Oakland is on the Move.”

She will be running for a four-year term. Her current term runs through Jan. 4, 2027. The election is set for Nov. 3.

Lee was elected in 2025 during a special election after former mayor Sheng Thao was recalled. As Oakland’s 52nd mayor, she became the first Black woman to lead the city.
