Adult care center debut

Eagle Rock— A ribbon cutting was recently held for Shining Star Adult Day Health Care Center, a new adult day health program in the Pillars building at 1800 Colorado Blvd. The center, scheduled to officially open July 1, features spacious interiors, vaulted ceilings and natural skylights. It will offer adults a place to socialize, take part in activities and receive support.

Dance studio steps in

Highland Park— Arthur Murray Dance Studio is opening this summer at 5021 N. Figueroa St. The studio will be owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Alexandra Olmedo and Roman Bykov, who have nearly 10 years of teaching experience with Arthur Murray. The studio, which began in Silver Lake, will offer ballroom, Latin, swing and social dance instruction for longtime dancers and beginners.

Silver Lake—Salt & Straw has launched a new rewards program for customers. Members can earn Spoons on purchases and redeem them for scoops, milkshakes, pints and other items. The program also includes early flavor access, birthday rewards and a buy-four-pints-get-one-free offer. New members can receive a double-scoop upgrade before July 2.

Highland Park—A new weekend night market is coming to York Boulevard starting on June 12. Noches on York will have local vendors and food and are also still looking for vendors to join them. The market will be at 5663 York Boulevard, just outside of El Wester Lawnmower.
