An old-school television game show is getting a very San Francisco makeover as “San Francisco Squares: The Pride Edition” comes to the Great Star Theater.
Part campy spectacle, part community fundraiser and part trivia showdown, the live event turns a classic TV format into an only-in-San Francisco Pride Month celebration.
Hosted by local drag luminary Sister Roma and featuring well-known comedy writer and longtime “Hollywood Squares” center square Bruce Vilanch, the fundraiser transforms the classic tic-tac-toe and trivia competition into a celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, Bay Area personalities and community giving. Contestants will compete to raise money for local nonprofits and advocacy organizations.
Reflecting the city’s eclectic character, the first round of contestants includes Mr. San Francisco Leather 2026 Johnny Rodriguez, Joyce Cenali of Sonoma Hills Farm, musicians Kippy Marks and Kitten on the Keys, and Twin Peaks Tavern bartender Stephen Torres.
The giant game board will feature celebrity squares including meteorologist Drew Tuma, San Francisco Drag Laureate Per Sia, activist Suzanne Ford, Sen. Scott Wiener, nightlife personality DJ Sergio Fedasz and others.
Audience members can win prizes too, with giveaways scheduled throughout the evening.
