BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The summer can be a dangerous time on the road for young drivers.
Memorial Day marks the beginning for what traffic safety experts call the “100 Deadliest Days” for teen drivers.
During this time, teen traffic fatalities are seen to increase by more than 20%.
On average, nine teen deaths are seen on the road every day from May 25 to September 7.
Grant Hubley, Vice President of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, joined ARC Bakersfield to share how families can make sure their young drivers stay safe on the road.
