OAKLAND — A 40-year-old man was shot multiple times Tuesday night as he sat in his car in East Oakland, authorities said.
The man was in stable condition at a hospital recovering from at least three gunshot wounds, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Pearmain and Prune streets.
According to initial police reports, the man had parked his car to get some food at a nearby food truck when someone fired multiple shots at him. It was not known if the shooter was standing on the street or firing from another vehicle.
Despite his wounds, the man was able to drive to his home several blocks away and call police.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
