A 26-year-old Oakland man is facing several felony charges after allegedly shooting into a car full of people, including children, on Saturday.

Kamani Jermaine Taylor has been charged with six counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, child abuse, shooting at an occupied vehicle, shooting at an unoccupied vehicle and two misdemeanor firearm brandishing charges, according to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

Taylor allegedly opened fire at an SUV in the 1200 block of 78th Avenue in East Oakland Saturday.

Six people, including children, were in the SUV at the time.

He was arrested in Oakland at about 11 p.m. that same day.
