SACRAMENTO (PSN) — Police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting in downtown Sacramento that left one man hospitalized, according to a statement from the Sacramento Police Department.
The shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. — effectively around 2 a.m. following the overnight time change — near Kayak Alley and 8th Street, an area known for late-night bar and club activity during weekend shutdowns.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, police said.
Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to gather evidence and interview witnesses. No suspect information or motive has been released.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Sacramento Police Department or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers.
