FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno County Elections Warehouse was evacuated Thursday after equipment from a nearby county facility started releasing smoke.

According to Fresno County Clerk/Registrar of Voters James A. Kus, the warehouse at 4525 E. Hamilton Avenue was evacuated after an Uninterrupted Power Supply device in a nearby facility was found smoking and potentially releasing harmful gases.

The Fresno Fire Department ordered everyone to evacuate the facility for the remainder of the day as a precaution.

Officials said no employees were hurt during the evacuation.

The elections warehouse was fully secured with assistance from the Fresno Fire Department before staff left the building.

The evacuation has delayed a planned election results update for the June 2 Consolidated Primary Election.

The update, originally scheduled for Thursday afternoon, will now be released before 10 a.m. on Friday.

County officials also expect employees to return the same day.
