Bakersfield, Calif. (June 10, 2026) — A pedestrian was hospitalized with major injuries Tuesday night after he was hit by a car in Bakersfield on Golden State Avenue.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department the collision occurred around 10:20 p.m. on June 9th, 2026 in the 1600 block of Golden State Avenue.
Man Struck Crossing Golden State Avenue
Police and paramedics responded and located the victim with severe injuries. An ambulance rushed him to a hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Detectives working on the case believe the man was hit by a driver in a white Toyota hatchback as he was attempting to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
The driver stopped and cooperated with the police. The case remains under investigation to determine fault.
