BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A power outage in downtown Bakersfield shut down some county services today, forcing closures and rescheduled court matters as crews worked to restore electricity.

The Kern County Administrative Center on Truxtun Avenue was closed today while PG&E worked to resolve the issue.

At the Kern County Superior Court, power was restored, but family law and child support cases scheduled for this morning were rescheduled. Other cases resumed at 9:30 this morning. County officials expect the administrative center to reopen tomorrow.

A separate outage also disrupted services today at Kern County Public Health. The department said its building on Mount Vernon Avenue was closed today due to a water outage in the area.
