(KRON) — Police in East San Jose are investigating a fatal crash that involved a woman walking in a residential neighborhood Friday morning, according to authorities.
The San Jose Police Department was dispatched at 6:30 a.m. to the crash near Glen Donegal Drive and Glen Ferguson Circle. The location is in the Hidden Glen North neighborhood just south of Cunningham Lake.
A preliminary SJPD investigation determined the driver, a woman, was traveling eastbound on Glen Donegal Drive in a 2010 silver Nissan sedan when she struck a woman crossing the road southbound. The pedestrian was outside of any marked crosswalks, police said.

The pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver is cooperating with the investigation, according to SJPD.
The incident marks the city’s ninth pedestrian death of the year.
