Rancho Santa Fe residents Amy and Bill Koman were recently recognized by Curebound for their vision and leadership for cancer research and announcing the Koman Family Impact Circle – recognizing visionary philanthropists whose $1 million-plus commitments are accelerating progress and shaping the future of cancer research – at an event held at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.
The couple was honored for having been instrumental in the formation of Curebound, and for having created and fostered multiple funding streams for cancer research in San Diego and in the Midwest, having driven more than $500 million in funding for cancer research, according to a news release. Bill Koman is a cancer survivor himself, having fought a two-time battle with lymphoma.
In addition, Papa Doug Manchester entered the $1 million level with his gift to join the Koman Family Impact Circle that night. The Manchester Family Foundation also recently made a generous contribution to enable 1,500 cancer survivors to attend an inspirational night at Curebound Concert for Cures P!NK on May 15, the news release stated.
