An investigation is underway after one person was killed overnight in a car crash on the 5 Freeway in Pacoima, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported at 3:39 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway at Terra Bella Street, according to CHP. There, two vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation.
One person died at the scene; no other injuries were reported. Authorities did not release the identity of the individual who died.
CHP did not say if the drivers of the two vehicles were the only people in the crash or if either vehicle was carrying passengers. Details on what led up to the crash were not clear.
