A homicide case has advanced against a 42-year-old Waterford Township man accused of fatally shooting a Pontiac man last November.
The defendant, Anthony Louis Brown, recently waived his right to a preliminary exam in 50th District Court. He’s charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and two counts of felony firearm in connection with the Nov. 15, 2025 death of Deevon Cornea Brown, 36.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened shortly after 6 a.m in the 200 block of Osmun Street. Brown was transported to a local hospital and subsequently pronounced dead.
Deputies were responding to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 80 block of Wall Street — where a bullet hole was found in the home’s back door — when additional 911 calls came in reporting similar incidents, including the Osmun Street shooting, the sheriff’s office said. No other injuries were reported, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Ward a few hours later in Farmington Hills.
Ward is held in the Oakland County Jail, with bond set at $1 million. Arraignment in the higher court is scheduled for June 25 before Judge Martha Anderson.
