Cartel Roasting Co. is now open in Beverly Grove
A Tempe, Ariz. café first born during the rise of the hipster coffee era has landed in Los Angeles.
Now open, Cartel Roasting Co. makes its L.A. debut with its 15th store nationwide and second in California (after Palm Springs), bringing an industrial-meets-vintage design, specialty coffee menu and community-focused ethos to the neighborhood.
Located in Beverly Grove, the coffee shop designs its facade in an industrial style with its vintage lettering and silver-toned corrugated metal. Adorned with antique décor and stained glass, the interior features a warm tone with its hardwood floors and wood-paneled walls, forming a cozy and inviting atmosphere to sip a taste of its high-quality coffees.

With a capacity of 35 customers, the new coffee place offers most types of classic beverages including lattes, mochas, matcha and chai, with seasonal specialty beverages available, such as a strawberry espresso lemonade, yuzu blackberry tonic and mango tajin matcha limeade.
In partnership with companies like Larder Baking Company, Uncle Paulie’s Deli and Breakfast Dreams, the new location also serves a variety of sweet and savory items including sandwiches, croissants, cookies, breakfast burritos and muffins, serving everyone from busy commuters to groups lingering over coffee and pastries.

Founded in 2008 in Arizona by the husband-and-wife team Jason and Amy Silberschlag, Cartel Roasting Co. started with the mission to support the local community. That continues with the opening of Cartel Los Angeles, where a portion of sales of the Give Back Blend benefits My Friend’s Place, an organization that helps young people experiencing homelessness throughout the Los Angeles area.

“Since we opened in 2008, Cartel’s mission has been to build connection and community — through our farmer relationships, company culture, cafes and online. We are so excited to build our community further in Southern California!,” said Amy Silberschlag, founder of Cartel Roasting Co.
