OAKLAND — A 45-year-old man was fatally shot Monday morning in West Oakland, authorities said.
Police have not yet released his name, but said he was a San Francisco resident.
The shooting happened about 7:24 a.m. Monday outside in the 1400 block of Fifth Street, across from the West Oakland BART Station. The man was found with at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were told the man worked at a job training center in the area.
A motive for the shooting has not been determined. No arrests have been announced and no suspect information has been released.
The killing is the 25th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year and the second in two days. A man was fatally shot in East Oakland Sunday morning.
Last year at this time police had investigated 35 homicides in the city.
