The staffs of KSEE24 and CBS47 received five regional Emmy Award nominations on June 15, recognizing outstanding journalism and storytelling across both stations.
CBS47 anchor Mederios Babb earned two nominations. The first recognizes her crime and justice story, The Verdict: The Trial of Erika Sandoval. She also received a nomination alongside Chief Photographer Kevin Mahan for their story, Turning the Page in Prison.
Fellow CBS47 anchor Brian Dorman was nominated for his news special, Human Trafficking: Breaking the Cycle. Joining him in the nomination are photographers Orlando Garcia and Kevin Mahan, along with editor Jeffrey Saul, who all contributed to the special.
Reporter Viviana Yvonne and photojournalist Madi Barrett earned a nomination for their human interest story, Sombrero de Charro.
Reporter Sydney Charles and Mahan were also recognized for their historical and cultural story, Buffalo Soldier.
News Director Andy Paras says the recognition reflects the dedication of the entire newsroom.
“It goes to show the level of talent we have here and the important work we do for the community,” Paras said.
