A Troy DPW employee and volunteer auxiliary firefighter was acquitted Monday of multiple sex crimes following a trial in Oakland County Circuit Court.

After deliberating for approximately one hour, the jury determined Brian Dodoro was not guilty of six counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration. Last Friday, the prosecution dismissed two other counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct Dodoro had faced.

Dodoro, 50, had been accused of sexually assaulting a young family member several years ago, but his accuser didn’t come forward until last year. The Troy Police Department said it then launched a thorough investigation that ultimately led to the charges.

The City of Troy put Dodoro on administrative leave after he was charged. Dodoro was arrested in October 2024 and spent several weeks in the Oakland County Jail before posting a $250,000 surety bond.
