The Jason Barry Team, in partnership with the James Blake Foundation, successfully raised more than $75,000 through its third annual Pickleball Tournament and Pre-Pickleball Happy Hour, held at the Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club on June 17-18. Funds raised through the event will support the James Blake Foundation’s efforts to advance cancer research, including initiatives focused on cancer early detection and natural therapies, according to a news release.
The two-day event brought together sponsors, donors, players, spectators, and community members from across San Diego County, all united in support of a cause that impacts countless families.
The event kicked off with a Pre-Pickleball Happy Hour on June 17 hosted with food from Pamplemousse Grille and wine provided by Meritage Wine Market (see Happy Hour photos above). Guests gathered to connect, celebrate the cause, and build excitement ahead of the June 18 tournament, which featured a full day of competition, community engagement, and fundraising (see tournament photos under paragraph below) .
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors, donors, participants, and community members who helped make this event such a success,” said Jason Barry of the Jason Barry Team, in the news release. “The generosity shown by this community continues to be inspiring, and we’re proud to partner with the James Blake Foundation to help advance meaningful cancer research and treatment initiatives.”

A special thank you goes to the event’s sponsors — Pamplemousse Grille, Meritage Wine, Drink Weird, Stretch*d Encinitas, and Smart Fit Method RSF — whose generosity played a vital role in making the tournament possible and maximizing its impact. Their support, combined with contributions from attendees and donors, helped the event shatter its fundraising goals and generate meaningful resources for the Foundation, raising over $75,000 for the cause, the news release stated, adding that the Jason Barry Team and James Blake Foundation look forward to building on this year’s success and continuing to grow the event’s impact in the years ahead.
