Farmington Hills has been selected by the National League of Cities for its arly childhood initiative.
The city is one of nine in Michigan and Tennessee selected to recognize the daily efforts of local staff to advance child development and family well being.
City staff will receive technical assistance, access to early childhood experts and peer networks and other resources from cities nationwide.
“Our selection in this initiative will help strengthen our commitment to giving children in Farmington Hills the best possible start,” said Karen Mondora, acting city manager. “As we work to expand programs, public spaces and opportunities for families, we are creating a City where children can grow, learn and thrive. This partnership helps us continue that work.”
“Local municipal staff plays a vital role in the collaborative ecosystem that supports young children and their families,” said Clarence E. Anthony, CEO and executive director of the National League of Cities. “Farmington Hills is joining other cities from across Michigan and Tennessee to embark on a unique and transformative experience for their youngest residents.”
