Fire Safety Workshop to be held on June 27 in Del Mar – San Diego Union-Tribune

Several local Fire Safe Councils have banded together to host a “Protecting our Community”, a fire safety workshop on Saturday, June 27 at Del Mar Heights School.

The event, hosted by the Fire Safe Councils of Carmel Valley, Del Mar Heights, Del Mar Mesa, Torrey Hills and Sorrento Valley, will run from 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m. with presentations about the recent  Sorrento Fire, preparedness, evacuation plans, home hardening and defensible space. From 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. there will be an expo with fire-safe vendors, block ambassadors and information about a local fuel reduction project. Pizza will be provided for attendees, donated by Del Mar Pizza.
