Video released Monday captured harrowing scenes at a Culver City gas station where several people were hit by an armed carjacking suspect in a sedan who was later arrested after a pursuit in Los Angeles.
Juan Luis Estrada, 45, was charged in connection with the violent chain of events June 16 when police said the Perris man intentionally crashed into people outside the station. Officers responded just before 7 p.m. to reports of the hit-and-run collisions.
Video released Monday by Culver City police offered more insight into events before the police chase.
The video showed the white sedan, which authorities said was stolen in an armed carjacking in downtown LA, run over the legs of a person at the exit from the fueling area before it appeared to crash head-on into a person standing at a nearby intersection. Two more people at the station were struck, including a motorcycle rider at a gas station pump.
The victims, ages 15 to 70, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
After the gas station rampage, police pursued Estrada, who crashed into another vehicle in the drive-thru of a McDonald’s in downtown Los Angeles. He was taken into custody at the scene.

More people were hit by the car during the chase.
Estrada was charged with 10 counts of attempted murder, one count of carjacking, one count of felony evading a peace officer causing serious bodily injury, one count of battery on a peace officer, and three counts of felony hit-and-run.
Bond was set at $10.25 million.
