the Sacramento City Council is scheduled to vote on two proposals aimed at responding to and limiting federal immigration officials access to city-owned facilities.The first immigration-related proposal would be the adoption and implementation of a Community Immigration Action Plan. “The purpose of the (Plan) is to prepare for and respond promptly, lawfully, and effectively, to federal immigration enforcement activities,” read a city staff report.The action plan includes a framework for coordinating with community-based organizations, advocates, labor and faith leaders.Adoption of the plan would also refer 311 immigration-related calls to NorCal Resist and the Rapid Response Hotline at (916) 382-0256.If passed, the city manager would be authorized to use any and all appropriate funding within her budget authority to carry out the purpose and intent of the resolution.
