BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the body found in the canal near Lake Street as 26-year-old Martin Jeu Plascencia of Bakersfield.

The coroner’s report said on June 13, 2026, at around 3:44 p.m., Plascencia was found dead in the canal near the 1400 block of Lake Steet in east Bakersfield.
The report said an autopsy was conducted, and the cause and manner of death are pending.
