The Montreal Canadiens have emerged as a logical destination for Mason McTavish, according to Frank Seravalli.
That is not a huge surprise.
The more interesting development, however, is that Seravalli now also believes a certain Kirby Dach could be a player the Ducks would target in such a trade.
The analyst weighed in on the situation.
Frank Seravalli identified the best “fits”… And among the teams that stand out to him for McTavish, he mentioned Montreal and Minnesota.
The Canadiens are looking for a center to support their core, so it makes sense.
But Seravalli’s analysis goes a step further. He also identified a possible return piece heading to Anaheim.
According to him, Kirby Dach could make sense for the Anaheim Ducks in a trade for McTavish.
His profile fits Anaheim’s needs.

According to Seravalli, Dach is much less expensive and still has plenty of upside, provided he can stay out of the infirmary.
The analyst emphasized Dach’s ability to contribute to the Ducks’ success. Despite a difficult tenure in Montreal, he remains a player who can make an impact.
Including Dach in such a trade would therefore make a great deal of sense.

It remains to be seen whether those pieces will actually come together.
Kent Hughes has already re-engaged the Ducks regarding McTavish, according to recent reports. And if Montreal truly is an ideal fit, as Seravalli believes, this week could have some pleasant surprises in store for Canadiens fans.
