Arrest made in San Jose hit-and-run that hospitalized pedestrian: PD

(KRON) — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital following a hit-and-run collision with life-threatening injuries Tuesday night, according to the San Jose Police Department.

SJPD said officers responded to the incident near Tully and Senter roads.

San Jose police said its Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) immediately helped investigators by reviewing public safety cameras and Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) information. Despite the suspect vehicle’s plate appearing to be altered, police said RTIC analysts found additional images that helped identify a possible license plate.

The suspect’s vehicle was located by SJPD patrol officers at the registered owner’s address and had “damage consistent with the collision,” according to police. The driver, who has not been identified publicly by police, was taken into custody.

Police said the victim has been stabilized but remains in critical condition.
